BurdaStyle Members Featured in the Pages of SewStylish!

We love to see our BurdaStyle members receive recognition for their creativity and passion. Most recently two of our members, grosgrain (Kathleen Frances) and elegantmusings (Casey Cartwright) were given the opportunity to show off their creations in the March issue of SewStylish, and we couldn’t be more excited for them!

Both ladies have fantastic blogs where they chronicle their adventures in creating one of a kind garments and projects. For SewStylish they were asked to refashion vintage pieces into fun, modern frocks perfect for a wedding, prom or just a night on the town.

Casey’s challenge was to take an outdated, oversized pink dress and give it a flattering new look. By removing the sleeves, adjusting the neckline and adding a lace inset, Casey turned her vintage find into a sleek, figure-flattering new number.

Kathleen’s dress transformation consisted of deconstructing the dated puff sleeves and replacing them with sweet cap ones instead. She also took a considerable amount of length off the skirt and added a contrasting red ruffle to the neckline. It’s a super-sweet style upgrade that has her signature girly appeal.

Congratulations to both grosgrain and elegantmusings on their fantastic feature and we’re looking forward to seeing more work from these (and the rest of our) talented members!
